DriveSavers Offers Free Data Recovery to Victims of Sevier County, TN Fires

The Industry-leader in data recovery is providing its services free of charge

(NOVATO, Calif. December 1, 2016) DriveSavers, the worldwide leader in data recovery, eDiscovery and digital forensic solutions, today announced it will provide free data recovery services to up to twenty Sevier County residents who have lost data as a result of the devastating fires raging through the area. All additional Sevier County fire victims will receive $300 off data recovery.
The disaster, which began Monday in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park has now spread to almost 16,000 acres. 700 structures, mostly homes, have been damaged or destroyed in what has become the worst fire Sevier County has seen in over 100 years.
The free service is available now for the first twenty fire-related recoveries of damaged hard drives, solid-state drives, smartphones, tablets and multi-disk devices such as RAID, NAS and SAN devices, up to $2,700 per data recovery job. All other jobs received by DriveSavers from the Sevier County fires will receive a $300 discount per recovery through December 31, 2016.
“We hope that we can help those impacted by these fires to recover lost data and regain a sense of normalcy,” said DriveSavers President Scott Moyer. “Over the last thirty years, DriveSavers has recovered photos, videos, contact lists, financial records and other irreplaceable data stored on devices damaged by wildfires and other disasters.”
If you have a smoke-damaged or burned computer, smartphone or tablet, do not attempt to power it up or clean the device. If a computer is wet from fire hoses, remove the hard drive, place in a plastic bag with an airtight zip closure and contact a professional data recovery service company such as DriveSavers.
DriveSavers is coordinating relief efforts with its broad network of computer service providers in and around the area. Those affected by the wildfires can visit local computer service providers that are partnered with DriveSavers to receive free or discounted data recovery services through December 31, 2016. They can also receive this discount by contacting DriveSavers directly at 800.440.1904.
