Mac Data Recovery Experts

Because DriveSavers Apple Certified data recovery engineers have the in-depth knowledge and technical expertise that comes from over 30 years experience with hard disk recovery for Mac, we have the highest success rate in the industry.

DriveSavers specializes in recovering data from all operating systems and all types of devices including desktop computers, laptops, servers, and iPhones or iPads running Mac OS or Apple iOS. This is the reason we routinely rescue lost Adobe files, mail servers, photos, videos, documents and other critical data for individuals and organizations of all sizes.

Close Affiliations with Manufacturers

Apple is partnered with multiple drive manufacturers. Two Macbook Airs may contain SSDs from two different manufacturers. Because each device is constructed with unique components and configurations depending on the manufacturer, it is imperative that our data recovery engineers have in-depth knowledge of the various proprietary metadata structures and hardware.

DriveSavers has developed strategic technical alliances with Toshiba, Samsung, Seagate and other manufacturers of solid-state drives (SSDs), hard disk drives (HDDs) and more complex Fusion drives found in Macintosh computers. This has enabled our engineers to develop proprietary techniques, tools and technologies that aid in Mac data recovery. All major manufacturers authorize our data recovery services so working with DriveSavers will not void the original warranty of your Macintosh computer.

Certified Secure Mac Data Recovery

When sensitive Macintosh computer data is being recovered, maintaining a high level of security isn’t an option—it’s a requirement. DriveSavers is the only data recovery company in the industry that undergoes an annual SSAE 18 SOC 2 Type II audit. This company-wide security audit assures our customers that every aspect of our facility and network is secure enough to protect personal and confidential data from a security breach during the Mac data recovery process.

Clients like Industrial Light and Magic, Harrison Ford, Willie Nelson, Beck and Bill Oakley, creator of The Simpsons, have all trusted DriveSavers with their critical data when they needed hard drive recovery. See who else has trusted DriveSavers.

Manufacturer Authorized Data Recovery

Our certified RAID data recovery engineers have the in-depth knowledge and technical expertise that comes from over 30 years of data recovery experience, allowing us to achieve the highest success rate in the industry. DriveSavers Enterprise Systems Group specializes in recovering data from all operating systems and all types of high-capacity devices including redundant arrays of independent disks (RAID), network attached storage (NAS), storage area networks (SAN) and multi-disk servers. We routinely rescue lost databases, ERP accounting systems, mail servers and other mission-critical data for organizations of all sizes.

Guaranteed Secure Data Recovery

Because RAID devices are constructed with unique components and configurations depending on the manufacturer, it is imperative that our data recovery engineers have in-depth knowledge of the various proprietary metadata structures and hardware.

Technical alliances with RAID controller manufacturers have enabled our engineers to develop proprietary techniques, tools and technologies that aid in data recovery from RAID devices based on solid-state drives (SSDs), hard disk drives (HDDs) and more complex hybrid and tiered storage environments. All major RAID manufacturers authorize our data recovery services so working with DriveSavers will not void your original warranty.

Data Recovery Clean Room

Extreme damage and data loss can result if any particulate matter enters an HDD. DriveSavers Certified ISO Class 5 Cleanroom is the most advanced data recovery Cleanroom in the industry. This dust-free, static-free, temperature– and humidity-controlled environment maximizes our data recovery successes on all storage devices by protecting the platters and electronic components on the drives from “killer particles” while they are open and vulnerable to damage.

It is an ideal recovery option for RAID, NAS, and SAN systems, hardware too large to ship (i.e. large servers), and for highly sensitive data that needs to stay on-premises.

Will it change/ruin my warranty? (i.e. Apple, Samsung, etc.)
All data recoveries are performed in accordance with standards set by leading hard drive and data storage manufacturers. All leading manufacturers authorize DriveSavers to open sealed drive mechanisms; our data recovery process will not void their original warranty.

How do you return my data, what does it look like?
The recovered data is transferred onto a new storage device and shipped back to you along with the original device via FedEx. Your package will include easy-to-follow instructions and links to support videos on how to review and back up your recovered data.

Will my data be at risk?
Your data is never compromised. An exact copy of the original data on the source drive is made; all recovery attempts are done on the copy.

DriveSavers provides the highest level of data security in the data recovery industry today and is the only data recovery company in the industry today to post proof of annual, company-wide security audits.

The security control objectives established for our annual audit are designed to satisfy the stringent security requirements and audits mandated by the corporate clients and government agencies we serve.

More about our certifications and security

What does it cost?
The final cost is determined by the success and completeness of the recovery and the selected turnaround time. A successful recovery will generally fall in the top third of the original quote range. We will never exceed the price that we initially quoted.

Why does the price have a range?
Every data loss scenario is different. Until the device has been examined by our Data Recovery Engineers, the severity and complexity of the data loss can’t be determined. After the free evaluation of your device, you will be provided a more accurate price range, however, the maximum final price will never exceed the maximum price that you were first quoted.

How do you determine the cost of the recovery?
The final cost of the recovery is determined by the complexity and completeness of the recovery, based on the complexity of the mechanical and/or logical issues, the quality of the recovered data, the quality of file names, and data structure. The final cost will never exceed the initial quote that you received when you first call DriveSavers. We call that our maximum price gap guarantee.

What if I only want a few files does that change the cost?
The work involved in recovering files from data storage devices is very complex. Whether you need one file or all files the effort is the same for the engineers, and we always attempt to recover all data on the device.

How do I pay you, when do you need my payment information?
Payment is collected when the recovery is complete, before shipping or pickup. You do not need to provide payment to start the data recovery process. DriveSavers accepts all major credit cards. Purchase orders and NET terms can be provided for Fortune 500 companies and government institutions.

We also offer two payment plan options PayPal Credit, a Digital Reusable Credit Line, and Affirm, a Consumer Finance Company.

What is the success rate for your recovery?
We have the highest chance of success in the industry. Our in-house R&D team combined with relationships with the industry-leading storage device manufacturers, allows us the highest opportunity for success, with over 90% recovery rate across all device types.

Can you recover the data?
Our engineers are stubborn, and will not stop attempting recovery until the data is recovered or it is determined by a number of engineers and a supervisor that the data is unrecoverable.

Have you worked on this specific issue before?
We’ve received hundreds of thousands of devices and hundreds of different issues. We have been in the data recovery business for over 35 years and have seen everything you can imagine - but there are always new data loss scenarios.

Can you recover data from XYZ?
DriveSavers recovers data from almost any digital storage device. Call our Data Recovery Advisors for a free quote 1.800.440.1904.

Why can't you guys just recover everything?
Some devices have logical issues (corruption, software errors, deletion) or physical issues (head crash) where data is destroyed beyond recovery.

What if you only recover a portion of the files and not all of them?
We will calculate the final cost of the data recovery based on the complexity and completeness of the recovery. It is our goal to get everything as it was before the data loss. If the files or documents you requested are not fully recovered, we will adjust the cost accordingly.

What happens if you cannot recover my data?
In the unlikely event that your data is not recoverable, there is NO charge for our data recovery attempt, and we even ship your device back to you, for free!

What does it look like when I have the data recovered? (HDD, Phones, Flash Drives, etc.)
In most cases, we are able to restore the original folder structure of the device, but in cases where there is damage to the directory, we will return the data in a custom file structure.

What are your payment options?
We accept all major credit cards including Discovery and Diners Club. Business checks and Net 30 Purchase orders are an option with the approval of the DriveSavers accounting department.

Do you have payment plans?
We also offer two payment options PayPal Credit, a Digital Reusable Credit Line, and Affirm, a Consumer Finance Company.

How do I get my device to you?
Call us to set up an order and we will email you a free overnight shipping label.

How do I package a device to ship to you?
To safely ship your device to DriveSavers, follow these five steps:

  1. Put your device in an antistatic bag or ziplock bag and seal it.
  2. Wrap your device with an adequate amount of bubble wrap, about 2-5 inches for most types of devices. (Do not use packing peanuts or another lightweight packing. These tend to shift during shipping and can increase the chance of damage.)
  3. Seal the sides of the bubble wrap with strong tape.
  4. Put your device into a sturdy cardboard box and make sure it’s tightly packed. Your media should not be able to move around during shipment.
  5. Securely apply tape to seal the box as well as place your prepaid overnight shipping label that you received with your service order confirmation on the top of the box.

Can I ship with anyone else besides FedEx?
You may ship your device to us using any mailing/shipping service. We suggest you use a service with tracking. We offer free prepaid overnight shipping only via FedEx.

Do I get the device I shipped to you back?
Yes, we ship the device back to you, unless you have asked us to recycle it for you.

Can I get my recovered data returned to me on the cloud?
We offer a Data Express service. Depending on the amount of data you need ASAP, we may be able to transfer data via our Data Express SFTP portal over the Internet. We would still ship the completed recovery to you.

Do you fix the devices?
No, and Yes – If the device is malfunctioning we may repair it using parts from our inventory in order to get it functioning long enough to get the data off. After the repair, the used part is then returned to the inventory.
