Video: DriveSavers Hurricane Harvey and Irma Data Recovery
In the aftermath of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, DriveSavers received hundreds of wet computers, drives and phones. Some drives arrived packaged in Ziplock bags with wet sponges.
Houston-based photographer Taylor Golden had to be rescued from her home. Along with four adults and four dogs, she took refuge on the second floor of her new home.
Taylor documented the approaching flood waters as they reached her home. She and others were rescued but had to leave behind all of their possessions. The flood waters peaked at five feet inside her home and destroyed nearly everything, including a 100-year-old piano, her wallet, computer and hard drives.
Fortunately, Taylor knew about DriveSavers and shipped her water-damaged devices for data recovery. 100% of Taylor’s data was recovered from her submerged hard drives. She and her husband have begun the long process of rebuilding their home.
Since August 25, 2017, DriveSavers has extended over $600,000 in services to victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
