Mandalyn Martini, a high school math teacher from Layton, Utah, recently shared her story of data loss and recovery. After storing 15 years of priceless family photos and important documents on an external hard drive, she faced a devastating moment when the device stopped working, leaving her unable to access memories including her daughters’ baby pictures.
DriveSavers Rescues Man on the Moon!
Apollo 11 astronaut, Buzz Aldrin knows computers. A mechanical engineer and fighter pilot before becoming an astronaut, Aldrin was the second man to set foot on the moon, following mission commander Neil Armstrong.
Even with years of experience with computers on earth and in space, nothing could prepare him for the surprise failure of one of his hard drives. A NASA associate of the famous astronaut recommended he contact DriveSavers for data recovery.
Last January, DriveSavers successfully completed a data recovery for Aldrin and his company StarBuzz LLC, retrieving historical NASA video files and images. As a gesture of thanks, he sent us an autographed photo of his famous moonwalk. You can also see this photo in our constantly growing Hall of Fame.
