The U.S. Sun: DriveSavers Cautions Consumers Amid 23andMe Data Privacy Concerns

In response to 23andMe’s potential bankruptcy and asset sale, Mike Cobb, Chief Information Security Officer at DriveSavers, warns that users’ sensitive genetic data could be at risk. Speaking to The Sun, Cobb explained that while users can request deletion of their data from 23andMe, there’s no guarantee it won’t be transferred or mishandled during a sale—especially if new owners lack proper security protocols.
