Uten minne ville datamaskinen din v\u00e6re fortapt og forvirret \u2014 den ville ikke vite hvor den skulle lagre eller finne informasjonen den trenger for \u00e5 gj\u00f8re jobben sin. RAM st\u00e5r for Random Access Memory og er ekstremt raskt. Jo mer RAM du har, desto raskere blir systemet ditt. Som navnet antyder, kan denne typen minne bare lese data, ikke skrive. ROM er en rask form for ikke-flyktig minne, noe som betyr at data lagres permanent og beholdes selv n\u00e5r datamaskinen sl\u00e5s av. Dette er fordi ROM ikke er avhengig av elektrisk str\u00f8m for \u00e5 lagre data, men skriver informasjon inn i individuelle celler ved hjelp av bin\u00e6rkode.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<p>ROM brukes ofte til \u00e5 lagre permanente filer som BIOS og operativsystemet, samt instruksjoner for \u00e5 starte systemet, kjent som oppstartsprosessen (bootstrap).
