These fires are close to home for many DriveSavers employees. Many live in near the affected areas and had to evacuate to shelters and other safe areas. DriveSavers Director of Engineering, lost his Santa Rosa home during the October 8, 2017 Tubbs fire which began late Sunday evening and burned across Sonoma, Napa and Lake counties. He is one of the first families to rebuild and move back into his home.
We know how it feels to get displaced by fires. Losing your data on top of that makes it worse. DriveSavers is committed to helping our community by providing free recovery on hard disk drives damaged in the fires.

GUIDELINES FOR FREE RECOVERY
Fire victims with fire-damaged Hard Disk Drive (HDD) need to fill out the DriveSavers application for free data recovery no later than October 15, 2020. There is a limit of one device per business or household. Customers needing additional recoveries, and those with multi-disk devices such as RAID and NAS devices, are eligible for a 50% discount off of regular service fees.
DriveSavers will accept as many HDD’s that we can. However, the number of free recoveries may be limited based on workload, cost of parts, and availability of personnel.
Those who are requesting free data recovery should use this form to apply.
We are asking for a photo of your device in order for our engineers to evaluate the possibility of the recovery. We will contact you within 14 business days upon receiving your application.
We have a number of posts that can help you protect your data or help you with your damaged data storage device.
