Lorsque cela est possible, ils passent du temps dans l\u2019environnement, cartographiant le fonctionnement des sauvegardes et leur emplacement, tout en analysant quels ensembles de donn\u00e9es critiques sont indispensables au fonctionnement de l\u2019organisation. Ensuite, avant de d\u00e9clencher le chiffrement, ils s\u2019en prennent aux sauvegardes, les chiffrant ou les supprimant sp\u00e9cifiquement afin d\u2019\u00e9liminer toute voie de r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration rapide.
