visionary people \u2013 you either love them, or you don\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>Despite what has been said about Gene, there was no denying the fact he had a fertile imagination and his drive to make humanity look at itself and question its decisions, as well as aspire to be\u00a0better, was deeply ingrained in him.<\/p>\n<p>Gene\u2019s legacy continues in <strong>Star Trek<\/strong>, but after his death, it also continued in two properties based on his work\u00a0\u2013 the television series<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.earthfinalconflict.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Earth: Final<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.earthfinalconflict.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Conflict<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>which ran for five years from 1997 to 2002, and another series,<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/andromeda.fandom.com\/wiki\/Main_Page\">Andromeda<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0which also ran for five years from 2000 to 2005.<\/p>\n<p>Many of us thought that <strong>Andromeda<\/strong> would be the last original work of Gene\u2019s that we ever saw on television (or in any other format), but it looks like there\u2019s a slight chance we might have been wrong\u2026 thanks to a little data recovery business called\u00a0<strong><a href=\"\/fr-ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DriveSavers<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>A number of news sites (both science fiction and mainstream)\u00a0are reporting on this at the moment, and over on the <strong>DriveSavers<\/strong> Twitter feed they\u2019re celebrating their discovery with the photo below.<br \/>\n<strong>DriveSavers<\/strong> have unpacked the contents of 200 discs of information owned by Gene, and for now, they\u2019re\u00a0remaining enigmatic about what they\u2019ve found. Gene and Majel Barrett\u2019s son.<\/p>\n<p>The wonderful <a href=\"https:\/\/trekmovie.com\/2016\/01\/04\/gene-roddenberrys-lost-data-recovered-from-200-floppy-disks\/\">TrekMovie website has the coverage on this story<\/a>. \u00a0It\u2019s a good read, and I bet I\u2019m not the only Trek fan wondering what ideas might be floating around on those old discs.<\/p>\n<p>Whether it was intended as a 50th Anniversary gift to fans or not, that\u2019s exactly what it is. \u00a0The discs could\u00a0have old script ideas or even completed scripts from Next Gen on them, and they might even contain a
